I met David Rogers, a local news reporter for the Hardwick Gazette, back in February when my large solo exhibition at Sterling College on Craftsbury Common opened. He was kind enough to write a very positive review of my latest painting exhibition and I thought my blog readers might like to read what he wrote about this show.
My paintings still hang at the Greensboro Library, and they may be up for several more months. Greensboro is a pretty quiet place during the winter months!

Artist Reception for “Twenty Years of My Life”
Time: Thursday, February 10 · 4:30pm – 7:00pm
Location: Brown Library, Sterling College, Craftsbury Common, Vermont

Amid many vicissitudes in life, painting has remained my constant theme – a time for discipline, beauty and re-balancing. I’ve actually painted with watercolor for 30 years but this large solo exhibition will display thirty-five of the original and personal works I created over the last twenty years.
On a side note, I’ve loved reading Vermont Sports Magazine monthly, since it first came out in 1990, noticing each winter the Craftsbury Outdoor Center’s hosting of their annual cross-country ski marathon in late January. I’ve always wanted to participate, but never quite managed to get there…despite wearing out two pairs of skiis over the years…and so my work, not my skiing, will make it to Craftsbury Common. Ski marathoning will have to come another time….=)

I am thrilled to be hanging for the first time in New York City, a place where my family has a long history! Francis Schaeffer pointed out that art was both a reflector of the times and a catalyst for change. This should be an interesting exhibition, since it was designed by a rather unique and visionary group who have focused on renewing our culture.
A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful, which God has implanted in the soul of man. ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
